To all the participants of the workshop.

It was fun to work with you. I wish you a safe trip back home and hope to stay in touch.

Read a short post on the mass rallies on Saturday in our vicinity - and a personal comment.

Dr. M, as I was about to leave the country at 5 am, I turned on the news and saw what I think is amazing.

The people really spent the night in the middle of the rain. I said to myself, if such demonstration happens in my country, Indonesia, I doubt people would do the same.

I'm not familiar with the issue, nor I state my position on it.

Dr. M, I have read your short post on and i was interested to your analysis about the unpopularity of elected leaders in Asia.

But there is a thing that was confusing me, why you didn't put the stand for EDSA (Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue)? As I didn't well known about that abbreviation eventhough it is popular for filipinos. (sorry, i've learned from you Sir)

In addition, not just GMA, Thaksin, and Chen, the elected leader from Indonesia (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) also going more unpopular according to the recent survey.

Hendra Kusumah.

hendra, thx for the comments. re the edsa acronym - i confess that i have become a filipino in this regard. everybody calls the road edsa - and people would probably laugh if you said the whole long word. but, in principle, you're right. i am so happy you picked this and - hopefully - many other things up at the workshop. take care and keep blogging.
